Kindly note that check-in time to all hotels will be at 1400 hrs and check-out is at 1200 hours.
Please note: The main block at Yala National Park is closed annually from 1st September to 30th October. The closure is to allow the animals some peace during the drought period and to allow regeneration. However, all the hotels will remain open. During the Yala Closure period, Game drives are possible in Yala blocks 3 and, 5 & nearby Lunungamvehera National Park and Bundala National Park.

Visit Wilpattu National Park, the largest National Park in Sri Lanka for a shared morning Game Drive. Hop on board a specially modified 4x4 safari jeep and head into a national park like anywhere else. Drive along winding paths through different habitats that make the park unique. Namely, Wilpattu National Park's name translates into the land of the Villus (Lakes). The park contains numerous limestone depressions in the ground that hold fresh and brackish water, forming the park's characteristic habitat.
Drive back to the campsite and spend the rest of your day at leisure.

In the evening proceed to Dambulla to conduct a safari at The Minneriya National Park which hosts one of the largest Elephant gatherings. Minneriya National Park is one of the very few places in the world to witness the ‘Elephant Gathering’. The 8890 hectares of the National Park is an ideal eco-tourism location consisting of mixed evergreen forests and scrubs favourites such as Sambar Deer, Leopards, and Elephants.

In the evening visit The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic which houses the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, which is an important landmark in Kandy. The Tooth is kept in a two-story shrine fronted by two large elephant tusks and rests on a gold lotus flower, encased in a jewelled casket that sits on a throne. The temple is decorated with beautiful local paintings and architectural features.

Throughout Sri Lanka you can expect humidity to be above 50 per cent year-round, reaching 90 per cent during the monsoon seasons. Peak season in Sri Lanka is considered to be from December to mid-April when the weather will average 30 degrees. This is the best time of the year to discover the beaches of Sri Lanka. Keep in mind that travel expenses and room rates will be highest at this peak time of year. If you’re holiday takes you to Sri Lanka in March or April, be sure to find out when the New Year will be. The celebrations include elephant races, coconut games and pillow fights.
Destination: Rain or Shine
Though Sri Lanka does have monsoon seasons, the weather is often unpredictable. You can expect rains during the dry season and days with clear blue skies during the rainy season. The rains in Sri Lanka normally fall sharp and fast, often dropping a number of inches in just a few minutes. Even while traveling during the monsoon season, showers will not last all day. With rainfalls coming down so quickly, it’s important to be aware of localized flooding. Local floods can derail travel plans so try to be flexible if traveling during the monsoon seasons. The benefit of holidays in Sri Lanka during the non-peak season is that you can enjoy the benefit of lower travel costs and cheaper hotel costs.
